As you probably know by now, we at Delogue, we believe that progress happens when people from different corners of the industry come together to learn from one another (cue TechThreads). That’s exactly what we set out to do when we joined forces with London College of Fashion for a workshop day dedicated to sustainability, legislation, and the future of fashion data together with our customer Pas Normal Studios.
The day was designed to give students hands-on insight into one of the most significant regulatory shifts facing the fashion industry: the Ecodesign for Sustainable Product Regulation (ESPR) and more spefically the Digital Product Passport (DPP). These new frameworks are reshaping how fashion brands work with product data, transparency, and circularity. But more importantly, they’re redefining how we collaborate across disciplines.
Together with London College of Fashion, we wanted to take something typically viewed as technical and distant - EU legislation - and make it tangible. The goal was to show students how regulation can be a creative driver, not just a compliance exercise.
“We decided to facilitate this educational day together with London College of Fashion,” explained Serina Slot Lauridsen, ESG Advisor at Delogue. “And then we took one of our customers with us, Pas Normal Studios.”
With that setup, the workshop became more than a lecture, it became a simulation of how regulation, technology, and brand strategy intersect in practice.
Throughout the day, students worked from a brief developed by Delogue and Pas Normal Studios, focusing on the DPP as a framework for both responsibility and innovation. They mapped out which data points a DPP requires, where that data lives across the value chain, and how it can be used to create value beyond compliance.
In other words, the DPP wasn’t treated as an administrative task, but as a tool for connection, a chance to rethink how transparency can strengthen trust between brands and consumers.
For Pas Normal Studios, joining the workshop was about more than explaining their sustainability work, it was about exploring what the Digital Product Passport could mean for the future of brand communication and consumer engagement.
Fabian Pirrwitz, Impact and Responsibility Analyst at Pas Normal Studios, described the DPP as a space full of potential:
“We’re just at the very beginning, in particular around DPP, and I think there’s so much untapped potential we’ve not yet looked into.”
He explained that while the fashion industry often talks about data as a compliance requirement, the real opportunity lies in how that data can tell stories - stories about production choices, materials, and community values.
That mindset mirrors what Serina also highlighted during the day: that Pas Normal Studios already works in close dialogue with its community.
“It’s really tapping into the way that they’re already working with their community,” she said.
It’s this overlap - between regulatory demand and authentic storytelling - that made Pas Normal Studios such a natural fit for the session. By connecting their real-world experience with students’ fresh ideas, the group could start seeing the DPP not as a static tool, but as something alive - something that evolves as technology, creativity, and responsibility converge.
The collaboration between Delogue, London College of Fashion and Pas Normal Studios became more than just a workshop, it was a glimpse into how the next generation of fashion professionals will navigate responsibility through data, creativity, and collaboration.
By combining real industry cases with academic insight, the day bridged the gap between theory and practice, showing that sustainability isn’t just a question of what brands do, but how they think. And when those conversations include both technology providers and educators, new possibilities start to take shape.
The ESPR and the DPP will no doubt define the years ahead. But as the students proved, their potential extends far beyond compliance. They open the door to stronger communities, more transparent communication, and better decision-making throughout the value chain.
At Delogue, that’s exactly what we stand for, connecting people, technology, and ideas in a way that helps the industry move forward with clarity and purpose.
Every month, we host a webinar, often in collaboration with our IT solution partners and leading industry brands. The topics vary, but one thing remains the same: we aim to make the fashion industry’s challenges more manageable and share our take on practical, hands-on solutions.
