Book a demoA fit sample is a garment sample made by a supplier so the brand can check how the style fits and whether its measurements match the spec. It is usually the first sample in the sample development process, before a pre-production sample and a salesman sample.
A brand sends a style to a supplier together with its specifications and asks for a fit sample. The supplier makes it and ships it, and the brand reviews it, usually comparing measurements, materials and finish against the spec. Feedback goes back to the supplier, and a new fit sample round follows until the fit is approved. Each round has a deadline, so the collection stays on its calendar.
Fit problems found early are cheap to fix, while the same problems found later move straight into delivery dates. Every extra round costs time, materials and shipping, which is why brands want requests, deadlines, comments and approvals in one place instead of scattered across email threads. A clear history of each fit sample also shows what was asked, what came back and what was agreed before production starts.
In Delogue, each style has a Sample Request sub-tab where brands ask suppliers for samples using sample types set up in Admin, so a fit sample can be requested as its own type. A request carries a deadline, notes, files and quantities per size and colour, and it stays linked to the style it belongs to. The Style Sample Report then shows the status and deadline of every request across styles. See the core features of Delogue PLM.
