Streamlined and in Sync: How Kleinigkeit is Simplifying Product Development with Delogue PLM

How do you stay creative when the everyday reality of product development is anything but simple? Between sketches, samples, emails, and endless file versions, the smallest misstep can slow everything down. For Kleinigkeit, a German womenswear brand built on style, structure, and speed, clarity became the missing piece.

That’s what led them to Delogue PLM.

“We wanted to simplify our processes and communication - and also the speed,” says Teresa Berndt, Product Director for DOB (womenswear). “To make it clearer and fix everything with the supplier directly on the product.”

From scattered tools to one shared platform

Before introducing Delogue, the team relied on a mix of Illustrator, Excel, Dropbox, and email to keep production moving. It worked - but only just.

“We mainly worked with Illustrator,” Teresa explains. “We created a setup and from that Excel sheets and tech packs. But we also worked through Dropbox and communicated with our suppliers via email.”

Each new collection brought more files, more links, and more room for error. The need for one structured space where everyone could see, comment, and update in real time became clear.

Clarity, speed, and fewer misunderstandings

Since implementing Delogue, Kleinigkeit has seen a shift not only in efficiency but in how their teams communicate.

“It’s definitely faster now,” says Samantha Montesa, Designer at Kleinigkeit. “Our suppliers react more quickly. We also work with an agency in Denmark and have a colleague there - everyone now reaches the same information level faster. Less information gets lost, and there are fewer misunderstandings.”

The ability to work visually has made collaboration even smoother:

“You can work a lot with pictures and answer directly to the specific question, in the right category, it’s definitely much more efficient than before”

From onboarding to acceleration

Every digital shift comes with a learning curve and Kleinigkeit was no exception.

“The onboarding was very helpful,” Teresa recalls. “Of course, at the beginning there was a hurdle, setting up all the ingredients and information, uploading everything that’s important. But once you have the most necessary things in there, like labels and hangtags, it goes really fast.”

The turning point came when the team started to feel at home in the platform.

“When you already know the tools, like copying a style sheet, you only have to make minimal changes and you have a completely new style. That makes the process so much faster.”

Collaboration beyond borders

Kleinigkeit first came into contact with Delogue through their Danish agency a connection that helped streamline onboarding across suppliers as well.

“All suppliers that run through the Danish agency are onboarded,” says Teresa. “We actually wanted to start only with two who knew Delogue. But then we decided relatively quickly: we’ll onboard everyone because it’s simply more efficient.”

The reaction from suppliers surprised them in the best way.

“We hadn’t expected communication to go so fast. They immediately responded to our requests and messages directly through Delogue - no more emails.”

Sampling made simple

As of now, Kleinigkeit uses Delogue mainly for sampling and the benefits are already tangible.

“We started with our autumn/winter season using the sampling module,” Teresa explains. “Next will be price handling and the rest of the process.”

One feature, in particular, stands out:

“Uploading the setup and creating a new style helps us the most,” says Samantha. “We’ve already commented on the first prototypes through Delogue and it’s great that the sampling request, like a tech pack, is already structured.”

“I also really like that you can simply check off when something has been approved or note if it’s missing - instead of writing it every time. And you can always go back and review previous comments”

Moving forward together

For Kleinigkeit, the shift to PLM wasn’t just about adopting new software. It was about creating space - for clarity, for teamwork, and for design.

“Once you’ve uploaded what matters, you see how fast and transparent everything becomes,” says Teresa.

And that’s exactly where Kleinigkeit thrives: at the intersection of creativity and structure where design can move freely because the foundation beneath it finally runs smoothly.
