Kingsland x Delogue: Riding Tradition into the Digital Age

Copenhagen, Denmark – April 29th, 2025 - In the world of equestrian sport, tradition is everything. Yet in a global market defined by speed, complexity, and data, tradition alone is no longer enough. For Kingsland, a pioneer in equestrian apparel since 1999, the future has never meant forgetting the past. It has meant honoring it and making it stronger. Today, Kingsland’s story is one of bold transformation, made possible by their partnership with Delogue PLM: a solution that brings the same spirit of excellence to their operations as they bring to every stitch of their designs.

By Riders, For Riders

There’s something quietly enduring about the world of equestrian sport. The early mornings, the smell of the stables, the familiar weight of the saddle, the silent understanding between rider and horse - just to name a few.

It’s a rhythm you don’t just learn - you live. And for over two decades, Kingsland has been part of that rhythm.

Founded with a rider’s insight and a designer’s eye, Kingsland has never chased trends. Instead, they’ve built something lasting: apparel that honors tradition, elevates performance, and moves with the rider - in every sense of the word.

But even the most timeless brands must find ways to adapt. As collections grew and markets expanded, the behind-the-scenes work became more complex. The craftsmanship remained, but the process threatened to lose its clarity.

That’s when Kingsland partnered with Delogue PLM - not to digitize tradition, but to protect it. In Delogue, they found a system that reflects the same values they bring to their clothing: functionality, intuition, and elegance. A tool that doesn’t get in the way, but simply makes space for what matters most.

A Brand Born from Passion

Born from the heart of a true equestrian, Kingsland was founded by Lynne Karevik, who saw a glaring gap in the market: there were no apparel options that truly served riders’ needs without sacrificing style or quality.

She set out to create a brand that was by riders, for riders - combining deep respect for equestrian tradition with a fierce commitment to innovation.

Over the years, Kingsland grew from a local favorite to a global leader, outfitting riders from Europe to Australia. Their collections became synonymous with classic silhouettes, refined details, and high-performance materials, trusted by amateurs and professionals alike.

But behind the growing brand and beautiful designs, cracks were beginning to show.

Facing Growing Pains

Managing collections had become increasingly complex. Product development was a maze of email threads, endless Excel files, and manually updated documents. Miscommunication between teams was frequent. Decisions about styles and changes were buried in inboxes, tied to individuals rather than to shared systems.

“There was so much knowledge locked inside personal emails. When someone left, it sometimes felt like whole parts of a project left with them.”

Maiken Them Hansen, Kingsland’s Buying and Production Coordinator.

Sample handling, supplier communication, style development - everything took longer than it should. And as Kingsland’s team in Copenhagen grew and their markets expanded, the risk wasn’t just inefficiency. It was losing the very qualities that had made Kingsland exceptional: responsiveness, precision, and trust.

Building a Single Source of Truth with Delogue PLM

The turning point came when Kingsland partnered with Delogue PLM. Instead of patching together old processes, they built a new digital backbone - one that matches their ambitions for quality, speed, and global collaboration.

Delogue became the single source of truth for product development. Styles, materials, approvals, feedback - all were housed in one intuitive, cloud-based platform, accessible to everyone involved.

"Delogue gave us a home for everything," Maiken says. "Now we know where to find the latest decision, the latest sample comment, the final BOM. It's not about chasing information anymore. It’s about moving forward."

The impact was immediate. Internal teams communicated faster and more clearly. Supplier onboarding - once a painstaking process - became a smooth, almost natural transition.

"Even suppliers who had never worked with a PLM before found Delogue intuitive," Maiken shares. "They saw the benefit within weeks, fewer errors, faster approvals, more time to focus on quality."

Protecting Craftsmanship Through Technology

For a brand founded on tradition, adopting a digital-first system could have felt like a betrayal. But for Kingsland, Delogue didn’t strip away the human touch - it protected it.

By removing noise and manual work, Kingsland’s designers, buyers, and product developers gained back what mattered most: time and focus to create exceptional products. It allowed them to stay true to their mission: to empower riders to perform at their best, wearing apparel crafted by people who understand their needs.

Preparing for a New Era of Transparency

Beyond internal transformation, Delogue also positioned Kingsland to tackle one of the biggest industry shifts on the horizon: the EU’s Digital Product Passport (DPP) requirements. As global regulations tighten around material transparency, sustainability reporting, and supply chain traceability, Kingsland is not scrambling to catch up. They are building from strength.

"We're already collecting the right data inside Delogue," Maiken explains. "And when the final reporting formats are decided, we’ll be ready to adapt quickly."

“Only a fraction of companies are fully prepared for DPP today. Kingsland’s foresight in building strong, clean data foundations gives them a massive advantage - not just for compliance, but for trust and brand leadership in a new era.”

A Future Rooted in Heritage, Powered by Innovation

Kingsland’s experience offers a powerful lesson to other brands in the fashion and apparel industry: transformation isn’t about abandoning your identity. It’s about finding the right tools to safeguard it as you grow.

"Find a PLM system that matches what your wishes are and also maybe your technical skills and level. I have the perfect example of PLM system that did not fit the company... Start by taking small steps, getting the foundation of the products in and then building on top afterwards." Maiken concludes, when asked what advice she would give other brands looking to organise their workflows.

For Kingsland, Delogue PLM is a partner - helping them protect two decades of hard-earned trust, support the riders who rely on them, and ride confidently into the future.

Because at the heart of every Kingsland product is still the same simple, powerful promise: by riders, for riders.
